Union representing maintenance employees are striking in front of Bruin Plate

Apparently some services will be delayed today

Teamsters Local 2010, the union representing maintenance employees in UCLA’s housing program, are currently demonstrating in front of Bruin Plate.

There are around ten people there at present holding up signs.

Assistant Vice Chancellors Suzanne L. Seplow and Peter Angelis, who manage Residential Life & Student Development and Housing & Hospitality Services respectively, sent a campus-wide email yesterday giving details of the strike.

It said there may be delays to normal services including package deliveries, but reassured that Housing Maintenance would focus it’s available workforce on the highest priority items:

“Specifically fire life safety, elevators, floods/ leaks, and building access”.
