UCLA shooting confirmed as a murder suicide

The LA police chief said that there is no further risk

Police and local news have confirmed that the shooting that locked down UCLA’s campus at around 10am today was a murder suicide.

The LA police chief, Charlie Beck said during a press conference that:”A homicide and suicide occurred just before 10am this morning.

“It is not believed that there is any further risk to students or staff on campus. The campus is now safe.”

A gun, believed to be the murder weapon, has been recovered from the scene after ATF and FBI stormed the Westwood campus.

The incident is believed to have occurred in a small office in the Engineering building.

Construction workers have testified to CBS news that they saw a man being taken in custody although it is not know who he is or why he was handcuffed.

Campus is still on lockdown as law enforcement are searching through Boelter Hall to ensure students are safe. Authorities are in the process of releasing campus back to students.
