UCIPD in search of thief stealing wallets at Langson Library

Hold on to your stuff

According to the LA Times a string of wallet thefts have been occurring at the Langson Library. UCI police are searching for a man described to be “Asian, in his 20s, black hair parted on one side, clean-shaven, a thin build and wearing slightly tinted eyeglasses.”

Unattended wallets are being stolen and students heading to the Langson Library are advised to be vigilant of their belongings.

UCI police also stated that, “after the thefts, the man used credit cards from the wallets and purses to make purchases at local businesses.”

UCI police urge students to contact them with any information on the man and call Det. Sgt. Charles Chon or Det. Roland Chiu at (949) 824-5223.

The LA times added that callers who want to remain anonymous may call OC Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS, text “OCCS” plus their tip to 274637 or visit occrimestoppers.org.
