A quick and dirty guide to voting in the California Primary

Idk, not trump though

Listen up Anteaters. If you haven’t been living under a rock, you know the California Presidential Primary is coming up.

It’s June 7th, to be exact. You should’ve received your sample ballot in the mail to look over. You can also look here for an online version. If you aren’t registered to vote, what are you doing? Just kidding, but go here to register. Seriously, voting is important. If you put on pants to go to a polling place, you can also vote-by-mail.

Oh, and if you’re like me and you don’t swing either way party-wise, make sure you’re registering as “No Party Preference,” rather than the confusingly named “American Independent Party.” The latter is a far-right group and probably not what you meant when you wanted to register as independent. Since California is a semi-closed primary, you need to be registered as under either party OR “No Party Preference” in order to vote for a specific candidate.

Voting registration closes May 23rd.
