Everything happening at the Women’s March on UC Berkeley Campus

Pre-made signs are being handed out

Beginning around 11:30 am, hundreds of community members and UC Berkeley gathered on lower Sproul to honor International Women’s Day.

People of all ages attended and pre-made signs are being handed out while music played in the background. Some professors were present, as well as members of the Undergraduate Worker’s Union and Cal Dining Formed Independent Union

Speakers are exploring the roots of International Women’s Day, talking in both Spanish and English. Speeches in any language were welcomed.

One sign read, “Feminism without intersectionality is just white supremacy”. The speakers emphasized this idea; they spoke about the link between women’s rights, LGBT rights, and education, religion, immigration, and race inequalities.
