Nobody wanted to hear what Donald Trump thinks about the Berkeley protests, but he chimed in anyway

He threatened to pull federal funding after the Milo protests

Donald Trump is really the last person anyone wanted to hear from after yesterday’s protests, but he chimed in all the same to threaten pulling federal funding from Berkeley.

Tweeting at 6:13 AM his time with his trademark reserve, he said: “If UC Berkeley does not allow free speech and practices violence against innocent people with a different point of view – NO FEDERAL FUNDS?”

As one user pointed out: “First you call journalists fake news. Now you’ll go after universities. This is how civilization ends.”

Last night, demonstrations against Milo Yiannopoulos’s talk turned sour when a riot broke out among the crowd.

Footage shot by The Tab shows a barrier being thrown through a window and a generator being set on fire.
