BREAKING: Hundreds of students gather on Sproul for inauguration day rally

‘They’re chanting “Hey hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go”‘

Hundreds students have gathered at an inauguration day rally with police officers standing by on UC Berkeley’s Sproul plaza.

Students are waving signs, marching and several speakers are talking about resistance and ways to be positive.

Yana Pollard, a Peace and Conflict studies major, said:

“I’m wearing this in preparation for what’s to come- I’m a woman and I’m showing that”.

The crowd is extending from the steps of Sproul Hall all the way to Cesar Chavez Student Union- people are even on the balcony of MLK watching the rally.

A large number of protesters are carrying “resist Trump” signs. Anti-facism flyers are also being handed out and some people even have tambourines.

Between speakers, the crowd is chanting “the people united, we will never be divided”, or “hey hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go”.
