We asked Temple students if they’re ready to go back to school yet

Spirits are high

Recently, Temple tweeted that there is only one month until classes begin. For some of us, that means getting back to our best friends, back to city life and back to work and internships. For others, it means forcing ourselves back into the swing of school and work again.

We were wondering what Temple students thought about going back to school and if they were excited about it, or if they were dreading it.

Owen Kiluk, Junior, Film Major

"I am always excited for school to start up! Summer is nice because I make a lot of money working two jobs and don't have to worry about homework or anything, and I can just focus on my job and having fun with my money. School is good, though, because it forces me to be better at time management and Iget to see all of my friends who went home for the summer. And, of course, I enjoy most of my professors and my classes and working towards my degree."

Julia Bixler, Sophomore, Neuroscience Major

"I'm super excited to be back on campus and see all my friends! Of course I'm not as thrilled to start classes, but I'm anxiously awaiting the start of the semester."

Amanda Lewis, Senior, Psychology Major and Mikaela Blaisse, Junior, Kinesiology Major

Amanda: "School makes me want to die."

Mikaela: "Yeah, and summer makes me want to live."

Amanda: "I am excited, though. I like my major and I'm looking forward to all of the classes I get to take in the fall because it's really centered around what I want to do in the future. I'm excited to get to hangout with my friends all the time, and also to find fun things to do with my roommate to procrastinate when I need to."

Mark Gabriel, Senior, Public Relations Major

"I'm super excited to head back to school this semester for multiple reasons. Coming from a small town, the city has so much more to offer, from shopping, to dining out, fun activities and more importantly, a level of diversity which some do not have the opportunity to ever experience. As a student that transferred to Temple last spring, I was still finding my way around, creating friendships, and getting used to living away from home. This semester I'm excited to truly learn what i means to be a Temple Owl and get more involved with on campus groups and clubs; not to mention, I cannot wait to see my friends."

Maxie Ehrlich, Senior, Advertising Major

"I am excited to go back! Senior year will be hard, but it's crazy that it's almost over."

Gail Vivar, Junior, Journalism Major

"It's bittersweet to be back. I'm not excited to be bombarded with a ton of work and stress, but I love my Temple family so much that I'll bear all the stress for them! I love our school and although it's always hectic, it's the type of craziness that makes college worth it."
