Temple’s bookstore: the best place to go Christmas shopping for Mom & Dad

It’s a quick, easy, affordable way to find some great gifts for the parents

Shopping for parents is hard. They’ve had years to accumulate everything they could possibly need, and they never tell you what they want. Mom ends up with a new scarf for the eighth year in a row, and dad gets another power tool he’s never going to use.  There’s usually no way around it . . . Until now.

Turns out the best place to buy gifts for the folks was sitting right under our nose (well, under the SAC) this whole time.

Temple’s bookstore has pretty wide array of semi-useless stuff plastered with Temple logos, but flaunting our success is one of our parents favorite pastimes. The Temple logos have the power to transform ordinary, useless gifts into the perfect combination of bragging rights and sentimental value. Mom could choose any old mug from the cabinet, but when she reaches in and sees that “Temple Mom” one it’s going to mean just that much more.

So, without further ado, we’re going to get into some of the best gifts for parents this Christmas courtesy of our very own Temple Bookstore.

Wine Accessories Gift Bag

Know what moms everywhere love? Wine. Know what moms can never get enough of? Wine (and wine accessories). The bookstore sells rubber wine stoppers, a wine bottle tote, and wine glass charms. Put ’em all together in a gift bag for a nice little “themed” Christmas gift.

Golf Set

Know what dads love? Golf. Know what dads can never have too many of? Golf balls. (Because, let’s face it, most of our dads hit them into the woods more often then they’d like to admit). This little set comes complete with four Temple golf balls, as well as a similarly branded divot tool and ball marker for the times when they actually hit the green.

Dad-Fashion

Dad fashion is “in” for all ages this year, but we still need to pay our respects to the people who started these trends oh-so-many years ago. Dads have been rocking dad hats and comfy, oversized dad sweaters forever. They’re good gifts for just about anyone this winter, but dads will appreciate them most.

And, for the more refined older gentleman, Temple’s Bookstore even has a nice little selection of watches, cuff links, and other dad-appropriate accessories.

Picture Frame

Moms and dads alike usually have at least one thing in common – they love us kids. They usually like looking at their kids, too, and since we’re not around as much anymore they’d probably love a Temple-themed picture frame. And, this way they won’t have to stalk you on Facebook as much. It’s a clear win-win.

Mugs & Water Bottles

The bookstore has an entire wall dedicated exclusively to mugs and water bottles. They come in every shape, size, and color imaginable so you’ll be covered no matter what style your parents prefer. I mean just look at that Temple Mom mug . . . whose mom wouldn’t think that’s the cutest thing ever?

Car Accessories

It seems like everyone’s parents have college window stickers these days – so much so that it’s almost become a right of passage. If your parents don’t have one, get one. And, if your parents do have one, why not help take their car accessory game up another notch by getting them a license plate frame?

Tech

Parents aren’t usually the best when it comes to tech stuff, but, nonetheless, the bookstore actually has a pretty impressive tech section. These Bluetooth speakers and sport headphones by JBL are a good gift for anyone really, so why not bring your parents into the 21st century?

Stocking-Stuffers

What better way to round out the list of best gifts than with some stocking-stuffers? The bookstore’s got a whole section of little doohickeys like wallets, key chains, and Christmas ornaments that’ll be perfect for stockings. This way you can just get all of your shopping done for mom & dad in one convenient spot.
