AEPi hit by car late last night

Vehicle potentially tied to an earlier hit-and-run

The historic AEPi fraternity house on the corner of Broad and Norris St. was struck by a car late last night. According to police, the car was coming down Broad St. and actually lost a wheel as it was approaching Norris, causing the driver to lose control and swerve directly into the front steps and porch of the house.

The driver was taken to the Temple Hospital, though his condition is still unknown as of right now.

As for the house itself, the damage was pretty substantial. The entire stoop, an area commonly occupied by AEPi brothers, was almost entirely destroyed. According to Jordan Weber, a Senior here at Temple and a brother in AEPi, nobody in the frat was injured in the accident.

Also of note: according to NBC10, the police said that the same car might have been involved in an earlier hit-and-run. It appears the driver may have hit something else and taken off, only to later plow into porch of the house.

As of right now the police have not announced any charges, though we will update you with any further information as it becomes available.
