THIS IS NOT A DRILL: The Student Association is giving away $10K in Uber rides

yeah, you heard me right

If you've ever ridden in a taxi around the Syracuse University area, you can most definitely feel my pain. On a good day, the cab is 10 minutes late, the driver hits on you throughout your entire car ride, and oh, the fee is upwards of 15 to 20 bucks.

Thankfully, New York has decided to join the 21st century and make driving services like Uber and Lyft legal throughout the entire state. The process of bringing them to 'Cuse took countless legislators support and time — too much in my opinion, but hey, as long as they're here!

With the introduction of these ride-hailing services, students at Syracuse University and many other New York state universities are being given access to an efficient and enjoyable "taxi like" (minus the smell and sketchy driver) experience.

Basically, what I'm saying is, not only will you be able to use Uber the next time you want to hit up East Adams or Euclid for a killer house party, but you could potentially get that ride for FREE.

In a mass email sent to students yesterday, the Student Association announced its partnership with Uber. Between September 1-4 the driving service will offer $10,000 to students. THAT'S THIS WEEKEND PEOPLE!

So what does this mean for you and how can you take advantage? It's quite simple actually. Tomorrow at 5pm, the Student Association will send out a code that the first 1,000 students who register can use to score a free $10 Uber ride.

In the email, they "urge students to take advantage of this opportunity to explore the surrounding community…" which means use it to go to Destiny USA or grocery shopping.

Me, I know better. Just use this code to get your drunk ass to the party or more importantly, back from the party safe and sound.

Have fun this weekend and thank me later.
