SU to introduce gender neutral bathroom signs

In 2014 less than six percent of the bathrooms in the most trafficked buildings were gender neutral

Starting in Spring 2017, SU will be introducing gender neutral restroom signs across campus.

Over the years, Syracuse University has been changing many of the communal bathrooms in dorms to single occupancy, gender-neutral ones. However, bathrooms in all academic buildings have remained labeled as specifically Men’s or Women’s, with less than six percent of the bathrooms in the most trafficked buildings on campus labeled as gender neutral in 2014.

Now, SU has taken another step.

A company called Pentagram will be designing these new bathroom signs and a vote to officially implement them will be held in November.
