Officer involved shooting at Cage
There is a heavy police presence at the scene
Heavy police presence has been spotted near Castle Court. Multiple “shots fired” have been reported.
Reports of gunshots have been reported on the corner of Madison and Walnut Ave.
Some witnesses say they heard gunshots while others say there was an altercation between the police and a man they were pulling over.
At least nine cop cars are on the scene.
According to witness Lauren Rosenberg who is at the scene now, one man has been taken into an ambulance.
DPS has just confirmed that shots have been fired, but say that “Everything is safe.”
A witness at the Cage told The Tab police officers attempted to revive the victim for at least two minutes before placing him in a body bag. The witness attempted to speak with an officer to get more information but all he could tell her was “it was an officer involved shooting.” The man was shot in the left side of his chest. It has been confirmed that the man was not a Syracuse University student.
DPS has not yet released an official statement and there has not been an Orange alert.
