Kenneth Kavajecz is no longer Whitman dean, effective immediately

Kavajecz has also been placed on administrative leave

An email was sent out this afternoon to all Whitman students, faculty, and staff announcing that, Kenneth Kavajecz will no longer hold the position of Dean for the Whitman School of Management. Additionally, Kavajecz, who also holds a faculty position, has been placed on administrative leave.  An interim dean has not yet been appointed, but in the mean time Vice Chancellor Michael Haynie will be in charge of any leadership responsibilities Kavajecz is leaving behind. Vice Chancellor Haynie is the Barnes Professor of Entrepreneurship.

Vice Chancellor Haynie and Michele G. Wheatly, Vice Chancellor and Provost will be meeting with those associated with Whitman (i.e., those who received the email announcing the changes), to discuss the future leadership of Whitman. This morning, the location and time were made official. The meeting will be held Friday, September 16 at 9 a.m. in the David Flaum Grand Hall. Hopefully the campus and school’s many questions will be answered.
