More SU off-campus housing might be on the way

Fingers crossed

University Student Living has proposed a six story, 368 bedroom student apartment complex to be built at the intersection of East Genessee Street and Walnut Ave. The company specializes in off-campus student housing.

The complex would have 126 studio, two, three, and four bedroom apartments on the second through sixth floors, while the ground floor would have parking, a café, various amenities, and a management office. These plans have been filed with the city.

The New Jersey based company has applied to the Syracuse Board of Zoning Appeals, and plans to name the project Walnut Avenue Apartments. A medical building and a bridal shop would be demolished to make room for the complex.
