Man charged with killing his mother on University Hill

A 22-year-old man has been charged with murdering his 60-year-old mother in her University Hill apartment.

Police said Jamar Brown faces charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The homicide was reported earlier this afternoon.

South Crouse Avenue

Mother Sarah Brantley, 60, was found dead at 12:36pm in her home in McCarthy Manor Apartments, half a mile from campus.

Cops found Brown near Walnut Avenue, at East Genesse Street.
