Major key to success: A cute Cuse tailgate outfit

Even if we lose the game, we always win the tailgate

As the semester comes to a close, ‘Cuse students have many things to reminisce about. Not only did we see great success from our sports teams, but we also saw great fashion during the tailgates.

Here are some of the best tailgate fashion moments that can be your inspiration for next year’s outfits.

Sophomores Lexi Iafrato, Nicole Engelman and Claire Greenbaum

There are endless ways to make tailgate outfits cute and different. So many options exist and they allow you to be creative if you choose to be.

Freshman Oriane Playner wearing light washed overalls, white fairy wings and disco ball sunglasses

However, you do not have to wear an extremely intricate outfit. In fact, sometimes the simplest outfits are the cutest. Don’t worry if you’re not the orange morph suit kind of person because there are many other ways to rep for our school. And if you feel like you need to add more Syracuse cheer to an outfit, top it off with a hat or a pair of reflective sunglasses.

Freshman Maeve Maloney, sophomore Amanda Kiami and junior Brielle DeJoe

Freshman Jayde Farkas and sophomore Alex Mersky

If you have a staple pair of ripped jeans, you can pair it with any navy or orange top. New Syracuse apparel can always be found. One of my favorite new designs is the “S” logo placed in the middle of an orange Rolling Stone band logo, and how could you not love a lace-up tee.

Sophomore Kayla Marquez, freshman Vera Rees and senior Karen Kim

Wearing overalls over one shoulder was also a huge trend.

Freshmen Caroline Wenger and Courtney Anderson

Freshman Alex Bass, sophomore Lauren Sharkey and freshman Sandy Burton

You can pair a denim skirt or even a pleaded skort with a ‘Cuse crew neck or tee. You can throw a denim jacket over your tee. You can even wear an oversized tee as a dress. The outfit possibilities are unlimited.

Freshman MacKenzie Silvia

Freshman Olivia Rudensky

If you choose to ditch your go-to frat shoes, you can always finish an outfit off with the right shoes. Whether you choose to wear Converse, Timbs, Adidas, Syracuse themed shoes or Vans, your shoe choice can pull a whole outfit together, especially if you wear it with a pair of high socks.

Freshman Jackie LaMancuso Side note: You can never go wrong with adding a flannel

We’ve had major fashion success at the tailgates this semester and I can’t wait to see what you all wear next semester!
