A comprehensive list of the best classes to take at SU

‘SPM 199 if you dig football, CFS 388 if you dig sex, FST 412 if you dig wine’

For those of us lucky enough to be here for another year (sorry alumni friends), class selection is coming up, and coming up fast.

For everyone who’s having a little trouble picking classes to the people just looking for an elective credit: have no fear, The Tab Syracuse and your classmates are here to help.

Beer and wine appreciation

Widely viewed as the single greatest class SU has to offer, FST 412 is a must-take. Free beer and wine provided for you every time you show up? No one could complain about that. The only catch: You have to be 21 by the first day of the class.

“Everyone should take beer and wine appreciation before graduating – it is also an easy A.” – Senior, Magazine Journalism.

“SPM 199 if you dig football, CFS 388 if you dig sex, FST 412 if you dig wine” – Senior, CRS & Sport Management.

Introductory classes

A widely recommended course, CSD 212 is a great intro class to take. Be warned, you cannot receive credit for both CSD 212 and CSD 303. And be careful, it fills up fast! Right now there are only two remaining seats.

“CSD 212 was pretty easy and really interesting. PSY 274 with Newman was super easy and ETS 400 for sure. This semester it was Jane Austen in context and the class is awesome and you get to go to England for spring break so that was pretty cool.” – Sophomore, Advertising & Psychology.

“CSD 212 with Pellegrino! CFS 388 is human sexuality. It’s an easy A and really fun and interesting.”-Sophomore, PR.

“CSD 212 with Anita Lightburn, she is bae. PSY 335 with Felver is childhood psych, it’s easy and interesting.” – Sophomore, Psychology.

Needing more credit hours, but not wanting to try very hard?

Check out CFS 201, SOC 101, NSD 115, and QSX 112. No pre-requisites to worry about, and a quick bump to your GPA.

“CFS 201 and SOC 101 are both easy As. QSX 112 is incredibly interesting and not very well known. Oh, and history of women’s suffrage is easy and incredibly interesting.” – Freshman, Childhood & Family Studies.

“NSD 115 so easy.  It was the intro class to nutrition science. I took it with Jessica Redmond and the answer to every test was basically ‘drink a lot of water, eat vegetables’. It’s not easy but drugs and human behavior with Palfai is so fun/interesting and he flat out encourages students to do cocaine. Also CSD with Tammy Kordas doe.” – Senior, ETS, Creative Writing Track.

“NAT 105- easy and interesting.” – Junior, TRF.
