The Class of 2020 is just as happy to get accepted to ‘Cuse as you were

Do you feel old yet?

Over the past few months, Syracuse University Admissions have been busily selecting talented and exceptional seniors from all over the world to be a part of SU’s Class of 2020.

These high school seniors couldn’t be happier to have been admitted.

Shirin Aminian, from California

What was your reaction to getting into SU? 

I was so happy I started crying and screaming and I couldn’t stop thinking about how much my life is going to change. 

What’s your major? 

Marketing (but I applied to get a dual major in advertising, still waiting for a response). 

What are you most looking forward to at SU? 

I’m looking forward to meeting new people and getting involved in school activities like clubs and Greek life, also I’m excited to move to New York and experience snow. 

Favorite food: Macaroni and cheese.

Favorite color: Blue.

Favorite movie: Wedding Crashers.

Favorite TV show: Friends.

Hobbies: I like to play soccer, dance, listen to music, and read. 

Cayla D., from Texas

What was your reaction to getting into SU? 

I was watching Shrek after getting out early on holiday break, saw my email screamed, and woke up my sleeping mom and opened it with her! We screamed some more.

What’s your major? 

Public Relations.

What are you most looking forward to at SU? 

Being able to have access to a network of incredible alumni, take great classes, make great friends, and Syracuse sports!

Favorite food: Chips and queso.

Favorite color: Formerly purple, now orange?

Favorite movie: Tie between Clueless and The Lion King

Favorite TV Show: One Tree Hill

Hobbies: Social media stalking, late night snacks with friends, posting crappy Snapchat stories.

Ariel Hylton, from New Jersey

What was your reaction to getting into SU? 

I was so excited that I began to cry and laugh at the same time! Initially, I looked at the letter and was speechless – my mind couldn’t comprehend the fact that I’m going to the school that I dreamt about going to!

What’s your major? 

Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

What are you most looking forward to at SU? 

Making new friends, getting involved in clubs and activities, going to sporting events, and being an Orange!

Favorite food: Burritos.

Favorite color: Pink.

Favorite movie: Saving Mr. Banks.

Favorite TV show: Bachelor/Bachelorette.

Hobbies: Writing, softball, and traveling.

Zach Driscoll, from New York

What was your reaction to getting into SU? 

I was super excited! I was also very glad that they allowed me to defer for a year so that I could go on exchange in Germany this year!

What’s your major? 

Advertising.

What are you most looking forward to at SU? 

Meeting new people and finding new musicians to jam with as well!

Favorite food: Chicken wings.

Favorite color: Blue.

Favorite movie: The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Favorite TV show: Big Brother.

Hobbies: Tennis, music (I play piano and cello, and I sing as well), reading, and writing.

Hayley Daniels, from New Jersey

Overjoyed knowing that all my hard work payed off.

Undecided.

What are you most looking forward to at SU? 

Making a new life for myself.
