Rutgers mourns the loss of honors student

‘Max was an inspiration during his too short life’

This past weekend, 19-year-old Maxwell Witkowski suddenly passed away in his Piscataway dorm room.

A student in the Honors College at Rutgers University, Witkowski was an active part of New Brunswick life. Consistently serving the community, Max frequently volunteered his time at the New Brunswick Library where he taught adult computer literacy classes. Also a graduate of the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science, Max was a vision of selflessness.

In a statement made to his close family and friends, his loved ones expressed that “He was an inspiration during his too short life and his absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.”

As members of the Rutgers community, we offer our condolences to anyone affected by Max’s sudden passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this sad time.

The University offers support services from CAPS for students impacted by Maxwell’s death. Appointments can be made by calling (848) 932-7884.
