Consumer alert issued for Uncle Sam’s Subs

It is not the first time this place got cited

According to the Allegheny County Health Department, Uncle Sam's Subs has over 20 different health code violations, ranging from improper employee hygiene to pest problems to improper food preparation and storage.

Some of the problems found were:

-Meats, cheeses, and vegetables were kept at temperatures warmer than what is required by law.

-Contaminated provolone cheese was still being stored.

-Grease and debris buildup in various parts of the restaurant.

-Mouse droppings "too numerous to count" around the cook line.

-A lack of "managerial control evidenced by the numerous repeat violations."

A sign warning patrons was posted on the door.
