A timeline of everything that actually happened this State Patty’s Day weekend

Nothing like car bombs, green beer and poop on a man’s car to celebrate Penn State’s favorite holiday

State Patty’s Day, the holiday where we drink green beer, down car bombs and pretend we’re Irish.

10 years ago, Penn State students created this holiday to celebrate St.Patrick’s Day since this holiday was usually over spring break. Today, it is still a Penn State celebrated holiday where students start as early as 7am to start the festivities.

In the past, there have been a lot of legal shenanigans that have happened, and although crime records weren’t record high this year, there were still some notable State Patty’s Day incidents that we won’t soon forget.

Friday:

Day-drinking

The weather was beautiful and students happily flocked to the bars. Cafe 210 was packed with students waiting to celebrate the weekend, the line at one point was three hours. Not to mention, the plethora of porch parties all through West College ready to enjoy the beautiful weather.

And odd police reports….

Friday night also experienced some odd police reports, including this one from the Palmerton.

Saturday:

8am, Bright and early

It was only 8am and West College was poppin’ with house parties.

People were already drunk and contemplating pregaming with car bombs before daylong festivities started.

9:45am – 10:30am

The drinking games had started shouts about freshmen asking how you played flip cup and upperclassmen screaming, “FRESHMAN, FRESHMAN FRESHMAN.”

11:15am – 4:30pm

Daylongs.. rain or shine.

4:30pm – 2am

Bar lines reach capacity, even ENVY nightclub had a line during State Patty’s Day weekend.

There was also a chicken tender robbery that included a report of a gun sighting…which turned out to be a potato gun.

And that’s another State Patty’s for the books, see you again for Saint Patrick’s Day.
