We asked our parents what’s the worst part of having us home for break

Basically, they don’t want us to ever leave

We’ve been home for a little over three weeks now, and there was nothing like coming home after finals week to a home cooked meal from mom. But now, we are all 10 pounds heavier and have the itch to get back for spring semester.

For most of us, we have one more weekend at home before heading back to Happy Valley, so we took this as an opportunity to ask our parents what the worst part of having us home is, but honestly, their responses proved that we really aren’t all that bad to have around.

The moms who never want us to leave

“That you’re going to leave again.”

“The fact that you couldn’t stay longer since you went back to school so early.”

“Having you here is the best and knowing that you’re leaving is the worst.”

“Having to say goodbye again.”

The parents tired of us sleeping all day

“The fact that you’re always sleeping.”

“I hate how you sleep all day, every day!”

Apparently, the house is always clean without us around

“All of the rooms get dirtier faster… and there’s more dishes!”

“Having to clean the kitchen up after you.”

“You never contribute to housework.”

“The overwhelming pile of shoes by the door that somehow doubles every day since everyone’s home. And there’s shit everywhere.”

“You require more cooking, cleaning, laundry, housekeeping and spending.”

The parents who just want us to get along with our siblings

“You and your sister STILL fight. I’ve given up on you two!”

“No one can agree on what to watch together on tv!”

If this is all our parents can come up with, it’s clear to see that we really aren’t all that bad and that we should probably come home for the weekend more often to try to jazz up their lives a little bit.
