Penn Staters tell us why voting in this election was so important

Although it’s a bit too late at this point

Students went out to the HUB to show their support and get people out to vote on Election Day.

Here are Penn State finest political enthusiast:

Charles Krugger, Senior, Geography

“I just wanted to remind people to vote today.”

Krugger, a Hillary supporter wanted to remind voters not to lose their hope today and that all votes matter.

Jessica Malerman, Junior, Communications Arts and Sciences

Jessica, who is with Next Gen Climate PA, is working to encourage voting on the issue of climate according to Aleigha Cavalier, the communications director of NexGen, PA.

Christoph Schlom, Volunteer for College Democrats

“I think there are so many good reasons to vote.”

Christoph said that one of his reasons is that, “There is a one in ten million chance that your vote is going to change the election, but this is a huge impact on the United States.”

“I wanted to do everything I could to try and get out the vote and I’ve been here for the past couple days.”

Sarah Heiland, Sophomore, Nursing

“I think its important to vote because there’s people all over the world who are fighting and dying for the right to vote for leadership in their country, I feel that sometimes people overlook that as a privilege.”

Sarah is also with the Students for Life club and wants to promote a pro-life and pro-choice stance when students vote today.

Robert Morss(Left), Freshman, Secondary Education, BullMoose Club Chairman  and Ed Cottrill (Right), Freshman, Avid Trump supporter, Petroleum Engineering

“The largest problem I see with Millennial votes is that they’re not educated votes. We have a lot of people who tweet about Donald Trump or go on facebook and make a funny meme about either candidate but don’t understand the policies that the candidates promote,” said Morss.

“I wanted to educate these kids about who they’re voting for and why Hilary Clinton would be such a disaster,”said Morss.

Morss said he wanted to have a conversation with students and teach them about their votes.
