Creepy clown sightings have made their way to State College

Wtf

Clowns? Nah, not scary! They are humans just like us. If you have this mindset, it will change after reading this. Over the past two years’ people dressed as clowns have been spotted all around the country. From California to South Carolina clowns have been scaring the pants off locals and starting an uproar of concerned individuals, and now the clowns have made their way to Central PA.

The first sighting happened on Tuesday in Huntingdon to be exact. Still not close enough to campus for you to be concerned? Well think again. On Saturday morning State College police received a report of a clown in the YMCA parking lot, on Whitehall Road. Luckily, the clowns have not been known to make any threats, but that doesn’t make them any less terrifying.

Last month, in Greenville, South Carolina, the clowns were allegedly trying to “lure children into the woods.” Ruth Sherlock, from The Telegraphy, reports that many children have gone to their parents saying “did you see the clown in the woods?” These clowns are reported to have large amounts of cash as a way to attract the children. This same occurrence, two clowns verbally harassing children, has happened in PA this week, specifically Pottsville, Schuylkill County.

The creepiest of all the sightings is what happened in Barr Township, on Monday night. According to Johnstown Tribune-Democrat, a woman reported to State Police that a clown was looking through her window.

On a college campus we see bizarre, unusual, and sometimes disturbing things all the time. But imagine leaving a party and walking down College Ave at 3am and seeing a clown around the corner? That ought to leave you with an eerie feeling in the pit of your stomach. In this situation Police say “The public is advised to use restraint and allow police to handle the situation” also to call the state police at 814-627-3161.
