UOregon is not very good value for money, says Time

Oregon State ranked above us

Time Magazine’s publication of Money ranked the University of Oregon #504 out of 705 colleges that are the deemed the best value.

Oregon State was ranked #202.

Money created the list against these criteria: at least 500 students, a graduation rate that was at or above the median for its institutional category, enough data to be analyzed by the publication, and not be identified in financial difficulty by the U.S. Department of Education or bond ratings agencies.  This reduced the number of colleges from approximately 2,000 to 705.

Upon reducing the number of colleges for the list to 705, they were then ranked on a score system in three categories: quality of education, affordability, and graduation outcomes.

The University of Oregon tuition is estimated at $25,400 with 56% of students that receive financial aid.   UO has an estimated graduation rate of 69% with an average of 4.4 years to complete.  The school has an acceptance rate of 75% and, according to Money, the average student debt is $21,535.

Coming top of the list were Princeton, UMich and Harvard.
