Ohio State student Heather Campbell killed in apparent murder-suicide

It is speculated that the deaths were a result of ‘a domestic related situation’

Early Sunday morning police began investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide on the first floor apartment of Taylor House Luxury Community in Columbus, Ohio.

Heather Campbell, a 22-year-old Ohio State student was found dead along with 25-year-old Kyle Lafferty.

According to NBC 4, Sergeant Dave Sicilian was responding to a concerned call received around 2:30 am from a friend of Campbell's. It is speculated that the deaths were a result of "a domestic related situation."

During interviews, neighbors told police that they heard something that may have been gunshots, as well as raised voices, indicating an argument.

After Heather's death, Ohio State released the following statement:

"We are heartbroken to learn about this tragedy. Heather Campbell was a psychology major from Strongsville. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Counseling is available for those students in our community who need support by calling 614-292-5766."
