We don’t need your apology, Baker Mayfield

You know where you can stick that flag?

Oklahoma quarterback, Baker Mayfield, issued an apology to Ohio State after planting the Oklahoma University flag at midfield following their 31-16 win over the Buckeyes. Well, you know what Baker Mayfield, we don't need your apology.

In an article published by ESPN the apology reads:

"I didn't mean for it to be disrespectful to any Ohio State people at all, especially the team or the players, because they're a great team and a great program," Mayfield said. "It was an emotional game. I knew that it was going to have a lot of implications on the playoffs. … I got caught up in an emotional win. Yeah, it should've been something I did in the locker room. So I apologize for doing it in the middle of the field."

That's okay because the last time Ohio State lost their home opener they won the National Championship.

Not to mention, Mayfield is the one who had the bright idea of trying to stick a blunt flagpole into a turf field. He may have been compared to Johnny Manziel, but we all know how Manziel turned out. Naturally, people took to Twitter to roast Mayfield for the flag planting incident.

We may have lost the home opener, but there's a lot of football left to play this season. Go Bucks!
