All the new bars, stores and restaurants coming to Ohio State this year

Get ready for some newbies and some familiar faces

Students at Ohio State can finally look forward to some good news after putting up with the ongoing construction along High Street. We've saved you the trouble and compiled a list of all of the bars, restaurants, and stores coming to the University District.

Have no fear because there will be no shortage of places to celebrate OSU football wins and grab some noms to combat a wicked hangover.

Chick-Fil-A

Move over Canes, there's another chicken joint coming to campus. I'll sell you on this one with two words: waffle fries. It's still up in the air as to when Chick-Fil-A will open its doors. The restaurant will be located on the ground floor of The Wellington apartments at 1912 North High Street complete with a patio on High.

Target

The people have spoken and Target will find a home at Ohio State. This location will be smaller than a standard store and offer everyday items for students. Expect to find groceries and other practical products. The store will tentatively open July 2018 situated beneath The Wellington.

Threes Above High

Threes Above High is now open in the former Scarlet & Grey Cafe location on the corner of West Norwich and North High Street. With the inevitable closure of Toos looming on the horizon students campaigned to save the campus staple. The newest incarnation will attempt to offer the same divey atmosphere. Threes even serves up some grub.

Chumley's

The campus favorite will re-open later this August just in time for football season. The new location will sit at 9th and High Street as part of the Highline at Nine development. Get ready for the return of the infamous schooner sometime later this summer.

TRISM

The restaurant, bar, and event space is now open for business in the former location of Eddie George's Grille 27. Trism serves healthy food options using locally sourced ingredients. Unlike other similar restaurants in Columbus they do serve alcohol in the evening. It will also host a range of events that promote a positive mindset.

First Watch

The brunch spot opened its doors on campus earlier this month across the street from Gateway Film Center. The restaurant offers healthy favorites as well as traditional breakfast and lunch options. Whether you want something light or something that will stick to your ribs First Watch has it all.

Leo's

The minds behind Oldfield's are opening another bar at 25 Chittenden Avenue. They hope to open Leo's by the end of August for the first Ohio State football game day. Further information is pretty hush hush, but who can complain about another bar on campus?

CoreLife Eatery

The healthy concept restaurant can be found on the corner of Lane and High by early 2018. The restaurant will serve healthy food options fast casual style like Chipotle and Bibibop. If you're looking for something quick to grab between classes CoreLife may be your new go to.

Amazon

Amazon is moving into the former UniversiTees storefront on High Street. The campus installment will make it easier, and hopefully cheaper, for students to buy and rent textbooks. The store will be a safe location for students to order school essentials and anything else they fancy.

There are a lot of major changes happening in the University District, but they're not all bad. May your time at OSU be blessed with more food and booze than you can handle.
