Series of car break-ins reported near Frambes Ave

The University has already been notified

Following a series of armed robberies near High Street last week, students on off-campus housing near Frambes Ave, between Tuller and Indianola, have started reporting an increase of car break-ins.

Kendal Searer, a junior at Ohio State reported that several vehicle break-ins have occurred this week. Apparently a car radio was stolen out of a Jeep, another car had its window smashed in, and early Friday morning, a man in a hooded jacket was seen bashing in a car window on Frambes Ave. Other than sharing a common area of occurrence, there is no evidence to suggest the incidents are connected.

The string of break-ins falls in line with the recent spike of crime in the Columbus area, especially in the areas surrounding Ohio State’s campus. According to the University, there will be an increased presence of OSU Police both on and off campus in an attempt to keep students safer and to reduce crime.

The University has already been notified of the incidents, but no official report has been issued to the students.

Any additional information regarding the break-ins should be reported to the University Police (614-292-2121) or Columbus Police (614-645-4545).
