Two armed robberies reported near High Street by OSU students

There is no confirmation that the two cases are connected

An Ohio State Emergency Safety alert was posted early afternoon on Friday regarding two armed robberies within one block of High Street.

The first robbery occurred on Thursday August 18th around 1:30am near Pearl and 13th Ave. The female student reported being robbed at gunpoint, describing the suspect as “a black male between the ages of 35 and 45, standing 5’10” and weighing 150-160 pounds.”

The second, occurring around 4:25am on Friday morning, happened near E. Frambes and Tuller. This is just six blocks north of the first robbery. Another female student said “the suspect approached her with a gun so she threw her property in his direction and ran away.” The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9″ to 5’11” and weighing 140-160 pounds wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana.

There is no confirmation that the two cases are connected.

No injuries were reported in either case and the Columbus Police along with The Ohio State University Emergency Management team stress again to be cautious and utilize the buddy system.
