Noah Spence denies reports of him accusing other OSU players of taking drugs

The journey to the NFL of former OSU defensive end has hit another road block

The former Ohio State defensive end took to twitter to defend his reputation after a report surfaced claiming he told an NFL team that he was not the only player at Ohio State who used drugs.

Spence’s career at Ohio State came to an end after the Big Ten ruled him permanently ineligible due to a series of failed drug tests.

In his lone season at Eastern Kentucky the defensive end recorded 11.5 sacks along with 22.5 tackles for loss.

Although his off-field troubles have concerned many scouts, Spence is a gifted athlete and could provide a needy NFL team with a presence along the defensive line.

NFL Analyst Busty Brooks and former Ohio State wide receiver Mike Thomas have both compared Spence to Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller.

“His ability to rush the passer, first-step quickness, dip and rip, the bend and balance that you see him turn the corner with, to me reminded me of the same thing I saw from Von Miller when he was at the Senior Bowl years ago,” Brooks said.

In 2011 Miller tested positive for amphetamines and marijuana but was not suspended. Prior to the 2013 season Miller was suspended for six games for violating the leagues substance abuse policy.

However, in 2015 Miller was removed from the league’s drug program after testing clean for two years in a row. The feel good story continues as Miller was named the MVP of Super Bowl 50.

Draft experts believe Spence can be selected as high as the first round.

If Spence can continue in Miller’s footsteps he will certainly find success in the NFL.
