Which are the best and worst upperclassmen dorms at NYU?

Tells us your residence hall horror stories

NYU dorms come in all shapes and sizes, with varying levels of pros and cons. They’re mostly clean if somewhat old, and some (Carlyle what’s good) have frustratingly slow elevators but are mercifully rodent-free. But even the cheapest options are still overpriced: you’re paying around $1600 a month to share a bedroom with someone, when you could take that same money and waltz into your own room somewhere in East Village or Bushwick, and have Wine Wednesdays without an anal-retentive RA breathing down your neck.

At the same time, NYU requires neither downpayment nor proof of income, whereas renting an apartment in the city is a massive pain in the ass. Tell us which dorm you love and which to avoid!
