Pharrell Williams announced as NYU 2017 Commencement Speaker at Yankee Stadium

In a statement released today, NYU have announced that Pharrell Williams – musician, songwriter, producer and former NYU artist in residence – will be the official commencement speaker at NYU’s all-school graduation this year.

Pharrell “will address the graduates and guests on behalf of all the degree recipients” at the ceremony, which will be held May 17th at Yankee Stadium. He will also receive a Doctor of Fine Art degree, honoris causa at the all-school graduation ceremony.

So Seniors, when in years to come your friends ask you – “so who spoke at your graduation ceremony” – you can answer that it was two-time Academy Award, eleven-time Grammy Award nominee Pharrell Williams. No big deal.
