NYU is officially closed tomorrow

Stay home, sleep in, praise the snow gods

Major De Blasio tweeted at 6:30pm this evening that NYC public schools will close tomorrow, as it is being reported that as much as a foot of snow could fall on the city overnight.

This is good news for not just kids and teachers in NYC public schools but also NYU students. In accordance with their policy, if NYC public schools close so does NYU. In an email sent out today to the NYU network, “If New York City closes its public schools or if the MTA halts City bus and subway service due to weather, then NYU will cancel classes and administrative offices will be closed.”

The email also notes that, while administrative offices will be closed, “personnel who provide essential services are still required to report for their regular assignments on time (if you are unsure if you fall into this category, speak with your supervisor). The NYU Langone Medical Center will continue to make its own independent decision and announcements about weather-related closings.”

NYU Alert confirmed moments ago that in following the policies outlined in their memorandum, tomorrow will be the first NYU snow day of 2017.

Hot cocoa and chill anyone?
