Three NYU students awarded Rhodes Scholarships

Not one, or two

NYU confirmed today that three NYU students from across its campuses have won prestigious Rhodes Scholarships for the upcoming academic year.

The Rhodes Scholarship is a post-graduate scholarship to study at Oxford University awarded to exceptional students outside of the United Kingdom, and it is considered one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world.

This year, three NYU students have been selected to represent Canada and the United Arab Emirates: Dubai Abulhuol (UAE) and Guillaume Sylvain (Canada) from NYU Abu Dhabi, and Melissa Godin (Canada) from NYU’s Global Liberal Studies Program.

Several NYU students have won the scholarship in the past, and Dubai Abulhuol and Guillaume Sylvain are the eighth and ninth students to be awarded the scholarship from NYUAD. They will be following in the footsteps of students such as Farah Shammout, who the Tab was able to interview last year and was matriculated into Oxford in October.
