Business Insider names NYU as #1 school for a Wall Street career

We beat out Harvard and Columbia

Most people go to college hoping that they’ll graduate and enter a career mine field. Many people hope to find themselves with a nice top dollar job. But only a few lucky members of the college educated bunch find themselves on Wall Street.

According to Business Insider the top college for a Wall Street career is our very own New York University & Stern School of Business.

Business Insider’s data came from Emolument. Survey data was received from 2,800 NYC office investment banking professionals. Staff like HR and communications were excluded from the data.

So if you aspire to be on Wall Street and you’re not at NYU, hopefully you’ll find yourself at one of these lesser schools.

University of Michigan & Ross School of Business — Ann Arbor, Michigan (1.6%), Rutgers University — New Brunswick & Newark, New Jersey (1.7%), Rutgers University — New Brunswick & Newark, New Jersey (1.7%), MIT & Sloan School of Management — Cambridge, Massachusetts (1.9%), Baruch College — New York City, New York (2%).

Let’s have a pause here for Harvard University & Harvard Business School at a measly slot number 6.

University of Chicago & Booth School of Business — Chicago, Illinois (2.6%), Cornell University — Ithaca, New York (3.2%), University of Pennsylvania & Wharton School — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (3.7%), Columbia University & Columbia Business School — New York City, New York (7.3%).

With New York University & Stern School of Business topping it off at #1.

Guess you don’t have to be an Ivy to be on top.
