The Tab NYU has two Violet Ball tickets to give away

Everyone went crazy trying to get them yesterday

Violet Ball, the one occasion where an NYU student can dance while sloppy drunk off of beer and wine in the Bobst lobby and not be judged.

As a part of NYU’s Violet 100 Spirit Week, the 27th annual Violet Ball will take place next Saturday, February 27.

Tickets were released yesterday at noon, and of course pandemonium ensued.

In fact, there was confusion from the start about when tickets would be released for sale.

The  NYU website for Violet 100 said tickets would be up for grabs on Thursday, February 18, but the official Facebook event announced the release of tickets on Wednesday, February 17.

Good ol’ NYU….

Once the clock struck 12,  it wouldn’t take long to see a student inquiry about the link not working:

Students started to become irritated with the link malfunctioning during the mad dash for tickets. And of course, the unthinkable happened (although it always does for major NYU events): tickets were sold out with in an hour!

Or at least that’s what people thought.

Notice me sipping wine in my profile picture, because I knew this was coming…

There were issues with check out, causing many students to be without tickets.

As NYU students we know where this is heading:

Some tried to plea for tickets using their Senior charm, because who would be alright with letting a Senior miss their final chance to dab to Taylor Swift in the Bobst atrium?

And of course there were the offers, where people immediately jumped in the comment section (even tagging their friends). Hopefully these sellers are not scalpers trying to sell $20 tickets for $35 or $40!

Not mad at this guy’s hustle at all!

Luckily, The Tab NYU bought a pair of tickets and we’re raffling them off for free later next week.

If you were out of luck, here is your chance to redeem yourself.

To win TWO free tickets to Violet Ball, like this post on our Facebook page, and like the Facebook page. A winner will be picked at random on Friday, February 26.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
