BREAKING: Five football players arrested, gun and marijuana found in car

Police were originally pulling over Redfield, White, Stepherson, Williams and Coney for speeding

Friday night police pulled over five Notre Dame football players in Fulton County for speeding and subsequently found a handgun and marijuana in the vehicle after reportedly smelling the marijuana as they approached.

Max Redfield, Ashton White, Kevin Stepherson, Dexter Williams and Te’von Coney were all charged with possession of marijuana. Redfield, Stepherson and Williams also received charges of possession of a handgun without a license. All five were held in the Fulton County jail.

According to WSBT, Notre Dame vice president for public affairs and communications, Paul Browne made a statement saying, “Any student arrested on a felony charge also faces dismissal from the university. The university will determine if additional sanctions should apply to any or all of the students charged.”
