Notre Dame Republicans endorse Trump for President

‘We believe we can and must support our party’s nominee’

The Notre Dame College Republicans issued a statement endorsing Republican nominee Donald Trump last night.

In a post on their Facebook page, they said, “As the GOP representatives at the preeminent Catholic institution of higher learning in the United States, the University of Notre Dame, we couple [our political] beliefs with Catholic values. On both counts, we believe we can and must support our party’s nominee, Donald Trump.”

The announcement comes the same week as the Yale College Republicans also issued an endorsement of Trump, and shortly after the Harvard College Republicans said they would not be endorsing him.

Indiana is a key state for Trump whose running mate, Mike Pence, is the Indiana governor.

A recent poll released by the Harvard Institute of Politics shows Donald Trump as unpopular among millennials, trailing Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by 36 points within that demographic.
