Notre Dame graduate student charged on three felony counts

Yuzhang Cui, a Notre Dame Graduate Student and Fischer Graduate Housing Resident, was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of child exploitation – both of which are high level felony charges.

He was arrested 13 days after SBPD filed a search warrant for an IP address registered to the University.

The investigation by the St. Joesph County Police Department revealed hundreds of video files relating to child rape on Cui’s computer, including several graphic images and video footage.

The police also suspect the files have been distributed.

St. Joseph County investigator Mitch Kazjer states that, contrary to common belief, internet activity is not anonymous and the police are highly aware of cyber criminal activity and will act upon it immediately.
