BREAKING: Electrical fire breaks out at North Dining Hall

There will be no breakfast tomorrow

Tonight, there was a fire at North Dining Hall in an electrical room, causing some power outages on the north side of campus.

According to a dining hall staff member, the fire was caused by a circuit break, and due to this, there will be no breakfast tomorrow.

There are currently multiple emergency vehicles, both from Notre Dame and South Bend Fire Departments, outside of North Dining Hall. The area surrounding the firetrucks has been blocked off with yellow tape and several different sirens can be heard.

In an email to students, more information was released: “Please be aware, there are no injuries. NDSP and NDFD have responded and are working on it. You may hear students discussing this. The fire started in an electrical room away from people.

“There are power outages on the north side of campus, I do not know how long the power will be out.”
