The North Carolina State Fair to start selling beer and wine for the first time EVER

This is the first time since opening in 1853 that they will sell alcohol

For the first time in the NC State Fair's history, beer and wine will be sold to fair-goers. Still no liquor, but this is a start.

This year, the fair is partnering with Our State to showcase beer and wine from across the state. Flights will be available for beer or wine, with the option to try a variety of different styles.

In a statement to The News & Observer, Steve Troxler, NC Agriculture Commissioner wrote, “The Our State Public House is an opportunity to showcase North Carolina’s growing beer and wine industries, which are significant contributors to our agricultural economy."

The fair will be in town October 12-22. After last year broke attendance records, adding some booze this year is sure to draw larger crowds than ever.
