This Michigan grad Photoshopped himself into Oscar nominated movie posters and they’re priceless

Guy Madjar or ‘That Guy in the Movies’ has created something that you NEED to see

Michigan graduate and former ComCo player Guy Madjar has made himself an internet sensation overnight. Using both his Photoshop and comedy skills, Guy cropped himself into all of the Oscar nominated movie posters and the results are hilarious.

If you are looking for a really good laugh to help you procrastinate from studying, this is it.

Guy has Photoshopped himself posing as a forlorn third wheel in La La Land holding an ice cream cone, an onlooker feeding birds in Manchester By the Sea, and a casual camper roasting a marshmallow in Hacksaw Ridge.

The best thing about the posters is that he incorporated himself so flawlessly that they look no different than their original counterparts. Guy posted the photos on both Facebook and Reddit, hoping to make his Facebook friends laugh – and after just a few hours, his post had gone viral through Reddit.

As a comedian, Guy is always working on projects to make other people smile. He’s extremely creative, which helps his humor soar. In one of his recent brainstorms, he said he came up with the idea of combining his love for Photoshop and comedy. He’s been working with photoshop for four years now, and has been involved in comedy for most of his life. He says, “I wanted to Photoshop myself into posters but in a way that would tell a joke. Something that would change the context of the image and get people to create a completely different story in their mind.”

When asked about the success of the posters, Guy told The Tab: “The most surprising thing to me was that not only was it getting a huge response, but the response was almost all positive, which really warmed my heart. I was so happy that I could brighten up a complete stranger’s day.”

Because of the overwhelming positive reaction, Guy has created a twitter page (@guyinthemovies) and is working on another photo set now. Inside scoop is that he’ll be working with classic movies from different decades.

Guy is currently on the job hunt in Chicago, looking to do something with graphic design or TV/Film production. Currently, he is taking an improv comedy class at IO Theater – which specializes in long form improv. Comedy is an extremely important part of his life, and has been for a while. He knows whatever he ends up doing, comedy will continue to be an important part of his life.

It’s refreshing to see someone completely redefine how we think of renown films, especially after all the Oscar award controversy. Bringing lighthearted humor into life is something that is super beneficial to society, especially in today’s political and social climate.

The community here at the University of Michigan is looking forward to everything Guy creates next and hopes he continues to pursue comedy in his future.
