Someone wrote ‘#StopIslam’ in chalk on the Diag

‘Truth is a microaggression’

Around noon on Wednesday, reports surfaced that someone had written “#Stop Islam” in pink chalk across the Diag.

The message was partially erased later in the day, but it prompted a lot of discussion across campus about free speech and Islam.

Around the same time, pro-Trump messages were written in chalk near the Ugli, but as of right now it’s unclear whether or not these messages are related.

The “Trump 2016” messages were accompanied by slogans like “truth is a microaggression,” “Trigger Warning,” and “all lives matter,” along with drawings relating to building a wall at the Mexican border.
