Michigan State student found dead in Mayo Hall

There is no evidence of foul play

Last night, a Michigan State junior was found dead in Mayo Hall.

The student's death is currently under investigation. Not many details regarding the cause of their death have been released, but according to an email sent from the Department of Residence Education and Housing Services to Mayo Hall residents, there is "no evidence of foul play."

The email, sent early Monday afternoon, explains MSU is currently reaching out to the deceased's family to provide support. "I regrettably need to let you know that one of our community members has passed away," the email reads.

It continues:

"Our thoughts are with [the student's] family and friends, residents and staff of Mayo Hall, and all who are touched by this loss. For those in the campus community who may be personally affected by this tragedy, resources are available at MSU."

Resident Assistants and Hall Staff are available for support, as are Michigan State's Counseling and Psychiatric Services. Students can also find online assistance and resources here.
