Slope Style: Ski Club’s best dressed

Not only do they look good off the slopes, they look even better on

Getting on a bus at 7am to ride an hour away for a day full of skiing and snowboarding might not sound appealing to just anyone, however, the members of Michigan State’s Ski Club managed to make it a memorable trip. The first ever Winter Bash took place at Cannonsburg Ski Area the other weekend. Many different fashion trends were displayed on the slopes ranging from colorful pants to crazy costumes, the group covered it all!

To note though, there is a definitely a distinct difference between the attire of snowboarders and skiers.

Maddie, Freshman, showed off her bright pants and colorful board

Matt, Senior, sported a camo look with a matching hat. No helmet for him!

Nikki, Freshman, stood back to show off her loud colors and snowboarding smirk.

Anderson and James, Freshmen, stopped mid mountain to show off their boarder look.

Snowboarders play the cool card while they shred the slopes. The baggy clothes, bright colors and skater-like boots give off the vibe that everyone is just a ‘dude’ to them. They tend to spend a lot of their time sitting in the middle of the mountain in groups, fixing their bindings. To skiers, they’re in everyone’s way.

On the contrary, skiers have a different look…

Hannah, Freshman, sported fresh white pants matching her helmet with skier braids

Kera, Sophomore, sported darker colors with a crisper look.

Josie, Sophomore, smiled with her dark colored skier jacket, bright skis and fun hat to match.

Skiers display a graceful look while flying down the mountain. Their clothes tend to be more fitting with neutral colors. Skiing with poles also helps to keep your balance. The most difficult part about a skier’s outfit is the boots. They’re almost impossible to walk in half the time and basically guarantee you’ll fall if you’re walking down stairs.

Whether you’re a skier or snowboarder, there’s always a new fashion trend to be set!
