MSU is clearly the inspiration for the new American Hogwarts

Go hang out in North Neighborhood for a while and you’ll see

J.K Rowling recently announced that there is a North American wizarding school called Ilvermony, in addition to schools in countries such as Brazil, Japan and Uganda. Now we aren’t totally sure what caused Rowling to build schools in those countries, but we can say with certainty that the North neighborhood here at MSU is the reason for Ilvermony.

Here are 3 reasons why:

1.) The buildings:

The architecture in North is the finest at MSU. They are the original dorms and halls that our first students were taught and lived in. With their large brick exterior and winding hallways, North gives off that wizarding vibe. Try and tell me that the picture above doesn’t look like the window they have in the Gryffindor lounge. You know, the one that Harry gazes out while he’s day-dreaming of Ginny.  Even items such as gas burning  candles mounted to the walls can be found in the commons and outside.

2.) Landon dining hall

Okay, this is a legit reason why J.K was totally thinking of MSU when making up Ilvermony. Come on, you can not try to say that the tables right when you first walk in don’t remind you of the great hall. THEY’RE BASICALLY IDENTICAL! Long, wooden tables with big comfy chairs surrounding them. And the food in Landon is obviously amazing! Besides, I never heard Ron complain about food they served at Hogwarts.

3.) The clock tower

Although the MSU clock tower stands by itself and not with a building surrounding it, but it looks basically straight out of Hogwarts. And they do the same thing which is super important for students. Also, who doesn’t love the music they play while you walk to class and the chimes always keep me on time.

There they are, the reasons as to why we can all say the J.K. Rowling based her new North American wizarding school, Ilvermony, off of MSU’s North Neighborhood.

MSU is a pretty magical place after all.
