It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Whether you’re hitting the bars, the club or just your bed early, you’ll inevitably encounter a number of girls along the way.
The way-too-drunk girl
This is a norm for a lot of students (especially freshmen). Just last year, I remember throwing a Halloween party at my off-campus house last year and being that girl walking around with a handle of Malibu rum. Halloween parties are the perfect opportunity to drink your face off, but stay with your girls and don’t embarrass yourself — or end up on the campus Snap story with your head in a toilet. #ItsLit
The girl who calls lingerie her costume
More power to you, girl. There are plenty of these girls who will just put on lingerie and high heels (oh hey, Regina George) and call it their costume. Sometimes they add in cute animal ears of some sort so they can say that they’re a “sexy insert animal name here.” We gotta to give it to them, it saves money on pricey costumes and you get to look super hot for a night without anyone judging you — it’s basically a two-for-one deal I wish I could pull off.
The girl who goes all-out
There are still girls who go ALL OUT like Cady Heron in Mean Girls for that Halloween party. I’m talking full costume and a mask and props like a knife or bat. Maybe even a chainsaw, tbh. These girls go hard and you wouldn’t want to run into them on Halloween night. Especially if they’re dressed as a clown. All puns intended.
The girl and her besties
There are some cute couple or trio Halloween costumes to be found, especially cutesy ideas like Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss and The Powerpuff Girls. They’re typically only seen for school costume competitions or going out to bars on that night, but you have to give people a lot of credit for going all out to match so perfectly. That, and it’s a perfect opportunity for a good Insta pic.
The girl who stays in
Who wouldn’t want to identify as one of those girls who stays in bed in sweatpants with a bottle of wine, watching Bobs Burgers instead of going out to a party? There are plenty of these girls who just take it easy and kick back with friends on Halloween. These girls know how to have a good time without having to put in the effort for a costume, makeup, hair, pregame supplies and DDs for the night. There’s also such a thing as stopping by CVS and picking up a $2 bag of bite-size Kit-Kats. Trick or Treat, amirite?
Regardless of which category you fall into — or none of them at all — we can all agree that every girl takes on Halloween differently. Whichever way you decide to celebrate, make sure to always stay safe.
