Too much free-time on your hands this weekend? Itching to give back to the community? If yes, The Big Event is for you! The Big Event is an annual event JMU puts on in April, giving students the opportunity to “show their appreciation for the surrounding Harrisonburg community by participating in service and beautification projects in and around Harrisonburg.”
Starting at 8am, students and volunteers will be flooding the quad to register to participate in The Big Event. If you want to volunteer and show your appreciation for the community, get an early start to your day Saturday and join the JMU community in a day of service projects. Dress warmly, though – the weather has changed its mind yet again and snow is expected for Saturday.
